Wages
Classified Employee Wages
Starting August 2025, all classified employees fall under a new Classified Wage Schedule. All returning classified employees will receive a raise and no employees will experience a decrease in hourly wage.
We understand that this can cause a lot of questions about where you fall in the new wage schedule. Right now, scheduling time to meet one-on-one with Human Resources and Payroll is not efficient. If you have immediate questions about your new pay rate, please reach out to your direct supervisor.

Employees may be eligible to receive more pay if they obtain certifications specific to their position. Contact your supervisor or Human Resources for more information.

How is my new wage figured?
Your base hourly rate is adapted to the Classified Wage Schedule based on your job using the Categories and Positions guide as well as experience utilizing one of the two methods below.
Method 1
Closest Experience Year: round up to the nearest step that does not reduce your 2024-2025 pay and add one year of experience for 2025-2026.
Method 2
Experience Step: credit for years of service = experience year
Example
Bobby (Paraeducator, Category 1) has been employed since November 2022 and makes $12.63/hr.
- Method 1 = Category 1, Step 5 at $13.00/hr.
- Method 2 = Category 1, Step 3 at $12.60/hr.
- 2022-2023: Experience Level 0
- 2023-2024: Experience Level 1
- 2024-2025: Experience Level 2
- 2025-2026: Experience Level 3
Higher rate is chosen: $13.00/hr.
What if I have certifications?
Certain certifications add to your base hourly wage.
Example
Bobby (Category 1, Step 5) earns a bachelor’s degree. This is eligible for an additional $1.00/hr. $13.00 (base hourly wage) + $1.00 = $14.00/hr.
What does “MAX” mean?
Experience Level 20 is the maximum on the wage schedule. Employees who are paid at Step 20 will still be eligible for future increases when the base rate for their job category goes up. Employees at MAX will receive a $.50/hr increase for the 2025-2026 school year.
Example
If the base rate for Category 1 increases from $12.00 to $12.50, the Step 20 rate also increases from $19.00 to $19.50. An employee already at Step 20 would move up to this new Step 20 rate.
Can certifications increase pay if I’m at MAX?
Yes. Certifications are added to your base wage even at MAX.
When does this take effect?
Target: September 2025 paycheck with retroactive payment to July 7, 2025.
All classified staff will see an increase.
No employee will experience a pay decrease.
What if I still have questions about my category, experience, or certification?
First talk with your supervisor and administrator. If your questions are not answered this way, please reach out to Human Resources.
