  • The design is waiting on some feedback on the latest layout of Eugene Field that was presented to the administration of Early Learning.
  • We have been issued a conditional permit and work on College Hill should resume soon.
  • We continue to work with the city on a full permit.

Oliver Brown Elementary School

  • Bids were received by Hutton from the many sub-contractors around Kansas.
  • The bids came in favorable to the dollar amount that was allocated.
  • There are other items that the district is responsible for out of the money that is allocated for the project as a whole: fiber to the site, all IT equipment in the building, badge access and gateways for new door locks, FF&E for the brand new building.
  • The water service fees of $122k from Pottawatomie County, are being accounted for in the bid number.

Eisenhower and Anthony Middle Schools

  • The construction had gotten the final construction documents yesterday, Tuesday, January 7th.
  • Bids will go out by the end of the week.We are still looking at bringing the bids to F&G on February 12th and then to the full board on February 19th.

Manhattan High School

  • We will have more user group meetings this week and next.
  • We meet as an administration group this Thursday.
  • GEA is continuing to work on the Design Development drawings.
  • MGC will have a completed Design Development estimate to present to F&G on February 12th.
  • MGC will then present the DD estimate to the BOE on February 19th.

Keith Noll Maintenance Center

  • Foundations and footings are complete by Vanco.
  • Alternative Air has completed the underground plumbing work and has back filled in the trenches.
  • Alternative has been working the past several days on the underground electrical work.This portion of the work shall be completed by Wednesday so that they can spread the gravel and the slab on grade can be poured this week.

Marlatt Elementary School

  • We had a building meeting on Tuesday, January 7th.
  • Option 3 of the parking, parent drop off lane and bus lane was discussed.
  • Good discussion was had and the design team is going to go back and look this option again after listening to the feedback from today.
  • They also talked about 2 options of the ED/BD suite.They really liked option 2. This option takes the space that is currently 3 reading spaces.The design team will have to find space in the school where the reading rooms can be located.
  • Gave an update on the elevator replacement and the amount of space that it will need in comparison to the lift that is there now.
  • They gave a brief update on the decision that was had about improving the kitchen and how the service line does not work well.

Lee Elementary School

  • The building committee meet on Monday, January 6th and talked about option 1 for the parking lots on the west and east side of the building.
  • BG had modified the layout a bit to have angled parking so that traffic goes one way.
  • As a reminder this project will be a two phase project for this summer and the summer of 2021.
  • The schematic design will be brought to Facilities and Growth on January 15th and then to the BOE on January 22, 2020.

Frank Bergman Elementary School

  • Unfortunately we had to postpone our building committee meeting due to the snow storm. This meeting has been rescheduled for January 13, 2020.
