Inclement Weather Stops (IWS) IWS 'Q' and 'A' Will my child be picked up and dropped off when the roads are covered with snow and ice?Yes, but some streets would not be traveled and are considered "Inclement Weather Stops". When IWS is in effect, the student would be required to be picked up and dropped off at an IWS designated alternate stop Parents who do not wish for their child to be picked up or dropped off at the IWS alternate stop should make other transportation arrangements. Who determines when and if "Inclement Weather Stops" or IWS are in effect? The Director of Transportation will determine what impact the weather will have on our buses and our students and will make the appropriate decision. How will we know when IWS is in effect? An announcement will be made by our local radio stations: 96.3, 101.5, 104.7 and 1350AM. Transportation will also call your home before your scheduled pickup time to let you know "IWS" is in effect and where your alternate pickup stop is located. How long will IWS be in effect?IWS will be determined on a day by day basis. Per Transportation policy, students should be at their stop 5 minutes prior to pickup time.
