Welcome to the Marlatt Elementary School Library!

My name is Mrs. Kristi Liebe, and I am the Library Media Specialist at Marlatt.  After teaching 4th grade at Marlatt for 15 years, I accepted the library media position at Marlatt Elementary the fall of 2005.  I love working with so many different age groups and ability levels.  Ms. Ann Fitzpatrick is the Library Media Clerk.  She has been a library clerk at Marlatt for the past 14 years and is super knowledgeable!  We both would love for you to stop in anytime to introduce yourself to us.

It is our goal to ensure that students are lifelong readers and effective users of ideas and information. Moreover, our goal is to make our library a welcoming place for students and to connect each child with the right book when he or she visits our library. Some of the many resources that can be found in our library are: a variety of fiction (ranging from Everybody to Intermediate Fiction), nonfiction/informational books, biographies, story collections, a variety of specialized research sources, magazines, Internet access, and a quiet space to study or read.

Parents are welcome (and encouraged) to stop by and see the wide variety of resources that our students have access to at Marlatt Elementary.  Our kindergarteners and first graders are allowed one book checked out at a time.  In the second grade through sixth grade, our students are allowed two books checked out at a time.

If you have a question about your child’s reading, an overdue book, or anything else I could help you with, please do not hesitate to contact me.  Email is probably the best way to get in touch with me, but you are more than welcome to call or stop by the library with any questions.  I look forward to meeting you and your child(ren).
