Thank you for visiting our webpage for Head Start & Early Head Start. Whether you are a parent, guardian, employee, LOGOcommunity member, or friend looking for information…welcome! This program has been serving children and families in Riley County since 1965. Head Start programs are funded by the federal government and administered by local organizations, such as USD 383. Our purpose is to promote the “school readiness” of children from low-income families through comprehensive services, including education, health, nutrition, and social services. When children are ready for school, they have the skills, knowledge, and attitudes necessary for success in school and later learning in life. And, when families are ready to support their child’s learning, parents/guardians are engaged in the long-term, lifelong success of their child.

In order to do this, our program will provide a supportive learning environment for children, parents, staff, and the community. This program will also support children and families in being healthy, safe, and ready to learn!
