It is my pleasure to welcome you to Manhattan-Ogden’s Special Education & Student Support Services
The goal of special education is to facilitate appropriate educational opportunities for students with diverse learning needs and abilities. We accomplished this through partnership with families and collaboration with general education to provide a continuum of services delivered in the least restrictive environment. By working together we can ensure that our students are identified as early as possible and receive the special education services they need through an individualized education plan (IEP).
Manhattan-Ogden Schools are dedicated to identifying all children, ages 3–21, within our community who are eligible for and in need of special education services as early as possible. Children ages birth-3 are served through our Parents-as-Teachers and Infant-Toddler programs. Links to these programs are here on our website. If a child is identified, the student’s special education team, including parents or guardians, work together to ensure the child receives the necessary special education services. If parents have a concern about the academic or developmental progress of their child, they can seek additional information about special education services and are urged to contact their child’s school or the Manhattan-Ogden Special Education offices at 785-587-2000.
Thank you for taking time to explore our website.
