Welcome to Lee Elementary School

Mindy SandersLee Elementary School is the home of the Longhorns.  We are a Kindergarten-6th grade building located in the heart of Manhattan in the beautiful Flint Hills.  Lee Elementary was established in 1953 and the facilities have been updated as recently as 2010.  Our students come from all areas of the Manhattan-Ogden USD383 school district.  We are proud to be part of a district where all families belong.

The Lee Elementary School mission is: to provide a learning environment that develops responsible, productive, life-long learners. Our staff is dedicated to helping each student succeed academically and socially.  We are committed to increasing our students’ academic engagement and personalized instruction.

The Lee student body is a representation of the larger Manhattan, KS community.  A percentage of our students are military connected, part of the Kansas State University family, and international students.  All of our students bring to Lee Elementary School a unique perspective of our world.  We value our families varied perspectives and we appreciate the value added curriculum in our classrooms.  Many Longhorn students have traveled extensively, speak languages other than English, and represent a wide variety of cultures and religions. As our students study, learn, and grow together; they are also broadening their global perspective.

We invite you to become a part of our school and begin enjoying our Lee family traditions!

Our most popular traditions include, but are not limited to:

    •       The Lee School BBQ

    •       Family Fun Day

    •       Scholastic Book Fairs (during parent-teacher conferences)

    •       Fitness Challenge

    •       Girls On The Run

    •       Basketball Club

    •       Boys And Girls Club host site

    •       Jump Rope Club

    •       Lee Elementary School Choir

Please stop by the school office and introduce yourself when you move into our attendance area. We would be happy to give you a tour of our state of the art facility and answer any questions you have.  We are excited to meet you and your family!

It's a GREAT time to be a Lee Longhorn!
