USD 383 Statement on DACA
September 11, 2017

The following statement is provided in response to the recent announcement
of plans to rescind the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

USD 383 wants to thank the great many people in our community who share our value of diversity. We also want to take this opportunity to remind our students, families and community of values, policies and practices consistent with our commitment to a culture of inclusion and mutual respect.

The USD 383 Vision of “Where all can learn” is our pledge to welcome, educate and protect every student in every Manhattan-Ogden school - regardless of place of birth, religion, language or skin color. USD 383 schools never ask students or their parents for information about immigration status, and we never release student records without written consent from the parent or a lawfully issued subpoena, warrant or judicial order.

Manhattan-Ogden USD 383 wants every student to thrive in school; to have fun and make friends; to earn a diploma; and to become a successful lifelong learner, earner and citizen. Thank you for your continued support of these efforts on behalf of all students.
